Puleo's Auto Clinic

Summer will soon be here, which means temperatures will be on the rise. Though most people look forward to getting outside and soaking up some sun, they want to remain cool and comfortable in their vehicles. Now is the time to schedule an inspection of your auto air conditioning to make sure it is ready for summer. You don’t want to wait until it stops working and you find yourself wondering why your car air conditioner is not cooling you down.

The key to staying cool is to schedule an auto air conditioning service before any problems occur. There are quite a few issues that can cause your auto air conditioning to stop working properly, including

  • The constant hot temperature of the engine,
  • Road debris and dirt,
  • Constant vibrating due to misalignment issues or bad tires,
  • Quick hard stops add stress to the AC unit,
  • A hard bump received such as running over an obstacle in the road, driving through potholes, or hitting a curb,
  • The condenser is clogged or blocked allowing the refrigerant to decompress,
  • Cracks or loose connections have developed allowing refrigerant to leak out,
  • The fan inside the AC unit breaks, and
  • Faulty electrical connections have developed due to poor maintenance

Word of Advice: Many certified AC repair technicians recommend an inspection and service at least twice a year—fall and spring. Even if you are only able to schedule an auto air conditioning service once a year, it is still beneficial, improving fuel efficiency and providing you with a cool and comfortable ride during summer’s high temperatures.
