Puleo's Auto Clinic
As long as their vehicle seems to be running just fine, some drivers ignore misalignment issues. They don’t understand what could be the result of a bad wheel alignment. But, if you’re a conscientious vehicle owner, you will want to understand what can cause front end alignment problems. Although alignment issues can simply develop as the miles add up, problems are more likely to be caused by a specific incident, such as:

  • Driving too fast over speed bumps, potholes, or other obstacles on the road,
  • hitting a curb,
  • driving consistently on rough roads, or
  • an auto accident, whether a minor fender-bender or a major crash.

Any one or more of the issues below are symptoms of a lost wheel alignment and should receive immediate attention:

  • Excessive vibration felt in the steering wheel and seat.
  • The tread and rubber on your tires are wearing down faster than usual and in an uneven pattern.
  • You are filling up the tank more often than usual (fewer miles per gallon).
  • Your car keeps pulling to one side or other of the road.
  • The steering wheel isn’t straight with the center of the road.
  • The steering wheel feels loose and you feel out of control.

Remember: A simple wheel alignment service costs much less than a new set of tires or new shocks, preventing damage to your tires, suspension system, and car axles.

Still, wondering about what causes front end alignment problems? Contact our ASE Certified Technicians at Puleo’s Auto Clinic for more information about wheel alignment issues and to schedule an appointment. Our auto shop serves vehicle owners in Washington, NJ, and the surrounding areas.
